Laying The Blocks For a Better Tomorrow
Anybody who has been a guest here in Cloughjordan House knows that we are constantly developing and looking to improve our offering. So it will come as no surprise that when we got a small break in our busy wedding calendar that we decided to do some revamping, remodelling and redesigning.
First on our list was the marquee. We got such amazing feedback last year about the new glass in the marquee that we thought why not add more? So that's exactly what we have done! There is now glass almost all the way around making the marquee brighter, warmer and more welcoming. We can now enjoy views of the garden from every angle! Bliss!
With new windows came a new floor for the marquee, a cosy carpet was added which has transformed the room. Next we looked to replace the existing marquee linings with new silk linings for the ceiling and pillars. We are now eagerly awaiting the arrival of our new dining chairs which we are sure you will all love.
Happy with the progress we were making with the marquee we then decided to turn our eye to the garden. We brought an amazing landscaper, who has showcased at Bloom in the Phoenix Park, on board to redesign the garden. We are very excited about the work Tunde has done thus far with Emma (our gardener) and look forward to seeing the end result.
Another area we saw in need of some TLC was the Check-In office. Prior to this season the staff office and check in were in the one space. Now we have a designated check in office complete with wood panelling and a chill out area.
Lots of painting and decorating has also been done. In the main house, both living rooms and the hallway have been given a new lease of life as have the bathrooms. Speaking of bathrooms we are in the process of completing an entirely new bathroom block for the men. It's sure to have some quirky features so stay tuned for updates on that!
Those are only the big changes, as with any business there is so much going on behind the scenes that often gets forgotten about. Like touching up the bedrooms with fresh paint, the arrival of two new tents in the glamping area, new bark in the forest for our ceremonies and the return of the stretch tent on the lawn. We have also competed a new pathway, have started the construction of a new foot bridge and have built a new stairwell in the Dairy.
All of these improvements would not have happened if it weren't for our amazing team. We have an incredible group of hard working individuals here in CJH who make all our ideas and dreams become a reality. Thank you to each and every one of you!
As you can see it's been a busy few months here in CJH and it is only going to get busier. We are looking forward to welcoming lots of lovely couples through our doors as we celebrate their wedding day with them. Keep your eyes peeled for any and all future developments because you know us, we always have something up our sleeves...
