CJH Wins 'Breakfast Champion' Award

While we can’t guarantee balmy Mediterranean temperatures for your special day or that a distant (or close) relative won’t cause a scene, we can guarantee that you will be blown away by our food here at Cloughjordan House.

It’s hard for our guests to decide what their favourite meal is when they stay with us but we are constantly hearing that our breakfast is ‘amazing’. So amazing, in fact, that recently we were awarded the title of ‘Breakfast Champion’ by Tipperary Food Producers.

Tipperary Food Producers are a network of artisanal food companies that are producing and promoting the highest quality products grown, sourced and manufactured in the Premier county. With its rich, fertile soil, Tipperary has always set the standard for food produce in Ireland and we love to take full advantage of this in CJH. Just like us, Tipperary Food Producers place a massive emphasis on producing only the highest quality, most nourishing foods. Our ethos at Cloughjordan House is all about producing delicious, seasonal dishes from our own home-grown produce, or by sourcing our ingredients locally.

We currently collaborate with several established members of the Tipperary Food Producers. You can sample their products at any meal of the day at CJH. At breakfast, try a refreshing glass of apple juice from the Apple Farm in Cahir. You’ll find our dessert board is accompanied by the mouth-watering ice-cream from Boulabán farm, Roscrea (Bailey’s flavour is a particular favourite). Much, much, much later on, you can sample Cashel Farmhouse Blue cheese, Cooleeney Brie and O’Donnell’s crisps of Clonmel as they feature on our late-night munchies selection.

We take the sage advice ‘breakfast like a king’ very seriously at CJH. With an extensive buffet selection of both traditional and creative breakfast fare, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Start off with some homemade granola, hearty Bircher muesli or chia seed pots (topped with either a dollop of homemade lemon curd or a compote of mixed berries foraged from the surrounding hedgerows).

For your second plate, taste our delicious black pudding and sausage rolls, sausage, rocket and chutney sandwiches, mushrooms à la créme, roasted pepper and goat’s cheese tartlet or the fluffiest pancakes on this side of the Atlantic. Don’t worry all you breakfast purists out there, you can still get your fry-up as we serve our own home-reared, free-range sausages and rashers too. Finish off with a slice of Cloughjordan Riot Rye sourdough toast smothered in raspberry jam made from the organic berries grown in our kitchen garden or go continental with a few slices of select Irish Gubeen salami and cheeses from our charcuterie board. After all of that, you’ll see why our breakfast is award winning!
